Surfside Beach, Texas - Postcard Friendship Friday

Surfside, a Texas coastal city offering miles of unspoiled shoreline, coastal marsh, rivers and bays. It is a great place for a retreat such as my sisters and I had a couple of weeks ago. It is laid back and comfortable and is a favorite of beach lovers and bird watchers.

It is only an hour and a half from Houston. Towns named Angleton, Freeport, and Clute will point you in the right direction.

Luv that one, Judy. Our family -- inlaws, aunts & uncles, nieces & nephews, et al -- stayed in a condo for a weekend at Surfside a few years back. One of our all-time favorite family gatherings. The place we stayed even managed to survive Hurricane Ike!

Oooh - I love places like that!
It's summer here now and almost everyone's hitting the beach for the sun, sea and sand.

Happy PFF, Judy. Your postcard reminds me of the beautiful beaches of my hometown in the Philippines :)

this reminded me of when I was about 8 years old and my family went on our first trip to the American south. We spent several weeks near Virginia Beach and one of the most memorable moments was when we found a conch shell on the beach. I never even knew such a thing existed and I loved listening to the sound it made when I held it close to my ear.
thanks for the memories,

Hi everyone! I just got back after a weekend away from the computer and have found all of your lovely comments. Thanks so very much! I'm glad so many of you enjoyed this and that it brought back memories.

Gratitude

When you arise in the morning, give thanks for the morning light, for your life and strength. Give thanks for your food, and the joy of living. If you see no reason for giving thanks, the fault lies with yourself.
